Privacy notice
Version 1.4 · 2026-09-26
The short version: this website has no accounts, asks for no personal details, and keeps no record of what you searched for. The mobile app can be set to ask for your mobile number before you go in; that is the only personal data that ever reaches us. We also ask where you are, but that answer never leaves your device. Both sections below say exactly what happens.
What we collect
On this website, nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no login, no newsletter and no contact form that stores what you type. We do not set advertising cookies and we run no advertising. Every medicine price, every comparison and every Kendra is reachable without telling us who you are, and that is not going to change.
Your mobile number, in the app
The mobile app has a sign-in that we can switch on or off without releasing a new version. While it is off, the app collects nothing and never asks. While it is on, it asks for your mobile number once and sends a one-time code by SMS to check the number is yours.
That number is the whole of it. We do not ask for your name, your email, your age, your address or anything about your health, and there is nowhere in our system to put them. We do not link your number to what you searched for — not because we promise not to, but because the searches are not recorded against anyone in the first place.
The number is stored in our database in Mumbai, and is used for one purpose: sending that code, so the same person gets back into the same account. We never use it for calls, marketing or offers, and we never sell it, rent it or pass it to anyone who would.
Two companies necessarily see the number in order to do their part: Supabase, which runs the database and the sign-in, in their Mumbai region; and StartMessaging, the Indian SMS provider that puts the code on the network. Both act on our instructions and for no purpose of their own. The code itself is never written to any log of ours.
You can delete it whenever you like, from Profile in the app or by writing to us — see deleting your account, which explains what goes and when. We keep your number for as long as the account exists and no longer.
Your location
We ask where you are once, when you first arrive, so that every page can point you at the nearest Kendra instead of asking again each time. You can answer with your browser’s location or by typing a pincode — both get the same list, and declining the browser prompt costs you nothing.
That answer stays on your own device. It is kept in your browser’s local storage, or on your phone in the app, and it is never sent to us or written to any database — there is no column for a coordinate anywhere in our system. Clearing your browser data removes it, and we are not told.
A position from your browser is rounded to about 100 metres before it is stored or used. Three decimal places is a street, not a doorway, and nothing here needs to know more than which Kendras are within a few kilometres.
What our hosting sees
Like any website, ours is served through infrastructure that necessarily handles your request in order to answer it, including your IP address. We use Cloudflare for delivery and Supabase, hosted in Mumbai, for the medicine catalogue. We do not build profiles from this, do not sell it, and do not join it to anything.
Health data
What medicine a person looks up can reveal a condition. That is precisely why we do not record it. We never sell, share or publish search terms tied to any identifier, because we do not hold them in that form in the first place.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act you may ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, and withdraw your consent. If you have only used this website, the honest answer is that we hold none. If you signed in on the app, it is your mobile number and nothing else. Write to brij@savewithjanaushadhi.com.
